Server rules
These rules are in force on the HoltDir Net Minecraft server at holtdir.net. Joining the server counts as agreement. Not knowing them is not an excuse. A rank, a pass, or a purchase does not put a player above them. Staff enforce them in game.
1. Conduct and chat
Respect
Treat players and staff with respect in chat, in private messages, on signs, in books, and on builds. Harassment, hate, racism, sexism, discrimination, threats, or heavy toxicity is an immediate ban.
Language
Public chat stays in English so every player can read it and staff can moderate it. Another language is fine in private messages.
Spam
No repeated messages, character floods, all-caps spam, or chat macros. Asking for a trade once is fine. Spamming the same offer is not.
Advertising
Do not share server IPs, Discord invites, or social accounts, and do not promote other servers or services. That includes private messages, signs, and books.
Impersonation
Do not pretend to be staff, another player, or the server. A name, a skin, or a chat message that is meant to fake a staff member is treated as a ban.
Staff
A staff decision in game stands. If a punishment seems wrong, open one Discord ticket. Do not argue it in public chat or follow a staff member around the server.
2. Play
Cheats
X-Ray, fly, speed, kill aura, baritone, auto-clickers, freecam, and any other unfair client are forbidden. A ban follows the person, not only the Minecraft name that was online.
Allowed mods
OptiFine, Sodium, Iris, Lunar, Badlion, and minimaps without player radar or cave tracking are allowed. A mod that shows players, chests, or spawners through walls is not.
Bugs
Do not use dupes, glitches, or plugin bugs. Report them in the Discord channel #bug-reports. Using a bug after you know about it is treated as cheating.
Combat logging
Logging out, switching away, or using a command to escape PvP is forbidden. Dying in a fight is part of the game.
Alternate accounts
No second account to dodge a ban or a mute, or to take a starter kit or a daily reward more than once. Both names can be banned.
Grief and theft
Do not break, place, or take anything on another player's claim, plot, chest, or build unless that player allowed it. Spawn and the market are protected the same way.
Spawn
No killing, trapping, or blocking players at spawn or in a marked safe zone. Let people leave spawn.
3. Plots and builds
Inappropriate builds
Offensive, NSFW, hateful, or discriminatory builds are removed with no refund of the plot or the blocks.
Ban on lag machines
Building constructions on purpose, or with gross carelessness, that heavily hurt server performance (for example endless redstone clocks, extreme entity or mob piles, or overloaded chunks) is strictly forbidden.
Performance limits
Builds that measurably and lastingly drag server performance down (guide value: server TPS falling under 15 TPS for more than 20 seconds) are disabled or removed by staff with no warning.
Sanctions
Unintentional overload (for example farms that grew too large): the build is taken down and a warning is issued.
Intentional lag machines or server sabotage lead to an immediate permanent ban from the network, with no refund of in-game value or purchases.
Market booths
A rented stall stays stocked and the path past it stays open. No traps and no blocking the next stall. Staff can clear a stall that stays empty.
4. Economy
Scamming
Scamming coins, items, or rented space is forbidden. Trades go through ChestShops, /ah, or the trade commands. A deal that only happened in chat can still be punished if it was a scam.
Real-world trading
Do not buy or sell items, currency, or plots for real money, gift cards, or services outside the official HoltDir Net shop.
Shop purchases
Coins, ranks, and items from the shop stay on the Minecraft name they were bought for. A chargeback or a stolen payment is removed from that name and can ban it.
5. Discord
The same conduct rules apply on the HoltDir Net Discord.
- Keep talk in the matching text and voice channels.
- Do not ping @everyone, @here, or staff without a reason.
- No NSFW content, gore, malicious links, or other people's private information.
- Tickets are for reports and appeals. Do not use a ticket to insult staff.
6. Punishments and reports
Staff choose the step from what happened and whether it happened before:
- Warning
- Temporary mute or kick
- Temporary ban
- Permanent ban and a reset of the plot
Cheating, publishing someone's private information, and an intentional lag machine can go straight to a permanent ban.
To report a player, open a Discord ticket with the name, the time, and what happened. A screenshot or a short clip helps.
One appeal goes in a Discord ticket: Discord.
